| River Dunes |
It
was a beautiful day when we departed Beaufort.
The bridge tender observed our approach and had the bridge open when we
arrived allowing us to continue on through the Russell Shoal Channel and back
onto the Intracoastal Waterway taking us to the Neuse River which was smooth as
glass. Turning into Broad Creek we soon entered
the channel for River Dunes, a lovely planned community with a wonderful marina
and excellent facilities near Oriental, NC.
The day was so beautiful we launched the dinghy to explore the nearby
waters. This was Hali’s first experience
riding in the dinghy and it seemed to be a hit.
We totally enjoyed our day at River Dunes.

The next morning we
retraced our track back out Broad Creek, leading to the ICW and the Neuse
River, The morning was gorgeous and the
seas calm.
